ReRo’s story began many years ago, during an unbearably boring class when Beka, tired of staring at a white cat jumping across the garage roofs outside the school window, turned to Pavle and said, “Hey, let’s make a game.”
They started writing a game about men in traditional Georgian chokhas, which ended in complete failure. However, one of them learned C# and Unity Engine, while the other mastered everything else. Realizing that the world neither began nor ended with chokhas, they turned their gaze to outer space and, in 2019, as computer engineering students, published their first mobile game, Spacy—the second (or maybe third) mobile game in Georgia.
On the thorny path of their undergraduate years, Beka and Pavle met Giorgi, and later on, they crossed paths with David and Gocha. As their studies were coming to an end, Beka, once again tired of staring at other things, turned to Pavle and the others and proposed founding a full-fledged company to work on digital products. The company was named after the studio they had dreamed of as children.
Since then, much has happened. Today, Rero is the most multidisciplinary digital agency in the region, with two branches, countless apps, even more websites, tons of graphic design pieces, two dogs, and one cat. Rero established the only digital academic publisher in Georgia, produced two feature films, branded the city of Kutaisi, wrote hundreds of digital marketing campaigns, created the world’s first urban AR attraction, and developed an app that shattered international charts—now a finalist in the Best Game category at the most prestigious industry event (CEEGA) in 2024, the first time in the region’s history (and they expect to win).
At Rero, they wholeheartedly love their work, each other, and digital art.
